BACKGROUNDThe Company was incorporated in Singapore on 3 November 1973 under the name Horiguchi Engineering Co (Pte) Ltd. It later changed its name to Horiguchi Engineering Co Ltd on 3 April 1990 when it was converted into a public limited company.
In 1996, the Company changed its name to Ho Wah Genting International Ltd to identify with its substantial shareholder, Ho Wah Genting Berhad which, together with other parties in concert, had made a takeover bid of the Company in 1995.
Following the financial and capital restructuring of the Company in 2004/2005, the Company changed its name to its present form, Global Ariel Limited, on 11 March 2005.
On 22 June 2007, the Company completed the acquisition of Assetgold Finance Limited. Assetgold Finance Limited is an investment company of 8 subsidiaries in the business of producing and supplying ready-mixed concrete. Going forward, the Company is now focussing its direction on the sector of the building materials industry of China.

BACKGROUNDThe Company is an investment holding company incorporated in Bermuda. The Group is engaged principally in the design, supply and installation of ceramics production lines and machinery, and distribution of ceramic tiles and granite and marble products. The Company changed its name from Interform Ceramics Technologies Limited to Shanghai Allied Cement Limited wef 15 October 2001.
More than 70 percent of the Group's equipment and building materials are sold in China, and the rest mostly in Hong Kong. The Group currently has 6 ceramics manufacturing plants in China. The Group is currently expanding into overseas market, including Singapore and Australia
